Confirmation

Confirmation is a second sacrament of initiation. In this sacrament, normally administered by a Bishop, a person professes faith in Jesus Christ as the Son of God through the power and working of the Holy Spirit. In so doing, the Bishop prays a prayer of consecration over the candidate, asking that the fullness of the gifts of the Holy Spirit will be poured out on the person. The Bishop then "seals" the sacrament by anointing the forehead of the person with Chrism Oil. Confirmation is received only once in a person's life.
Candidates for confirmation are prepared through our religious education program.
